Board of Directors Opportunity: We are seeking engaged leaders with a commitment to maintaining the sustainability of Good News Outreach that will ensure our future of serving the most vulnerable populations. Leaders are needed in the following areas of expertise:
Purpose: To provide oversight, governance, direction, and advice in regard to the business and affairs of Good news Outreach as a means to accomplish the organization’s mission. Vision: Here at Good News Outreach, we aspire to provide services to those who might not otherwise receive them, whether from other non-profit organizations or governmental agencies. Mission: As a faith-based organization, we strive to reduce recidivism, hunger, homelessness, and isolation through uplifting and collaborative efforts in the Big Bend region. Major responsibilities: Organizational leadership and advisement, formulation and oversight of organizational policies and correlating procedures; financial oversight and management including adoption of the annual budget; supervision, evaluation, hiring/firing of Executive Director; review of organizational and programmatic reports; serve on a board committee; board member recruitment; ambassador in the community; and active in fundraising efforts of organization. Length of term: Each director shall serve for three years. Directors are eligible for reelection for a maximum of three (3) consecutive terms. Directors must resign from the Board after nine (9) consecutive years of service but may be re-elected to the Board after one (1) year off the Board. Meetings and time commitment: Regular meetings of the Board of Directors are held in- person every other month (odd number months) on the fourth Tuesday at 4:30 PM. The non-profit, Motivating People Through Arts and Crafts (MPAC) is seeking individuals committed to furthering our mission to join our Board of Directors. We use arts and crafts as a catalyst to help enhance social skills, friendships and/or acquaintanceships for teens and young
adults, focusing especially with people on the Autism Spectrum, neurodiverse, and/or with Communication Disorders.
We are a small organization providing direct services in Leon County with planned expansion to surrounding, underserved rural areas. The MPAC board meets monthly and is comprised of a variety of professionals, with representation of Neurodiverse young adults. The MPAC Board is
actively recruiting members with varied backgrounds, including legal, grant development and marketing. Most important is the interest in applying your skills to strengthen the MPAC mission as an advocate for young people experiencing neurodiversity.
The MPAC hosts on-going events throughout the year that provide opportunities to celebrate artistic expression and Neurodiversity. The annual Art Case event is held each April in conjunction with Autism Awareness Month. It provides participants with the opportunity to display their artistic
creations and connect with other artists within their community. Projects throughout the year include the on-going series, Career Art, a series of weekly workshops focusing on art entrepreneurship - creating, marketing, and selling one’s art, Quarterly Showcase and on-going classes and fun events that blend creative activities with opportunities to build friendships and strengthen one’s communication skills.

Disability Rights Florida (DRF) is seeking leaders in disability rights and/or disability advocacy and services to join its Board of Directors. DRF is a statewide, federally mandated protection and advocacy system for persons with disabilities. Funded through nine federal grants, the nonprofit provides legal advocacy and rights protection for adults and children with a wide range of disabilities. The agency employs approximately ninety-five staff members located throughout the state and in four offices in Tallahassee, Gainesville, Tampa, and Hollywood. Each year we host two fundraising events: A Night of Hope and RUN 211. Board members are needed to help our staff with event coordination, silent auction coordination and sponsor solicitation. Board members are also asked to help us promote our services throughout the community and increase awareness of our hotline and community resource database. We would like board members who are interested and passionate about mental health and suicide prevention. But we serve people with all types or needs.
